Y2K is the thirteenth studio album by Hop-Scotch. Recorded from August to October 1999 at Studio HS in Ferguson Beach Village with additional songs recorded in December 1999 at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, The Bahamas, the album was received well by critics for its concept. The band moved from Interscope to the newly-formed Interscope Geffen A&M for this album, but ended up switching to Lovilago Music for the Wikinations and Razor & Tie for the world outside the Wikinations after this album.

The album's concept revolves around the Y2K bug, and the hoped technological advances in the new millennium.

It has sold at least 1.7 million copies to date, making it the band's most successful. It is often seen by fans as Hop-Scotch's 'comeback album'.

Promotional tour[]

On January 5, 2000, Hop-Scotch televised a concert for Nickelodeon called Hop-Scotch: Live in Your Living Room from the Los Angeles University Cathedral in downtown Los Angeles, California, United States. The concert sold out and had Gwar as a opening act. Then-leaser Gene Scott benefited from hosting the concert, allowing him to perform weekly maintenance on the Cathedral's "Jesus Saves" neon signs with the ticket proceeds. Hop-Scotch performed again at the theater building, now known as the Ace Hotel Los Angeles, in 2016. The first leg of the tour was a North American leg, which had several concert sell out. The Don't Tread on the New Millennium Tour was presented by Pepsi, and was a huge success.
