The Soccerfield

The Soccerfield is a modern football/soccer stadium, the newest one in Lovia. The stadium is located in the Trading Quarter of Noble City. It was revamped and redesigned in 2004, and can now seat 10,000 people.

Stadium History[]

The Soccerfield in the Trading quarter was built in the mid 1960s for local sporting events and small inter-city games, but it was getting old and was quite small. The idea came up in 1999 to build a new, partly enclosed stadium. At the same time, FC Caltrava was looking for a new, larger, venue. Sponsors were found in Federal Foods Inc. and the stadium began construction in mid 2002. THe stadium was designed/built by Adams and Fletcher (Karl Hitzlsperger) along with a British and Dutch company. It was finished and officially opened on 24 October 2004. Though Federal Foods owns 82% of the stadium (the club owns 18%), it was not named after the company, instead retaining its original name.

Stadium use[]

The stadium is used primarily by top-tier FC Caltrava club and women's club FCF Caltrava. Other local clubs use the stadium for soccer, but it is also sometimes used for rugby matches.

The stadium is one of two official venues of the Lovian National Soccer Team, since it is decently large and it is very modern. It will host games of the 2011 LSCA Major Soccer League tournament.
