The Organization for Support of the Hurbanovan Independence[1] (abbreviated OSHI) was an organisation founded by the population of Hurbanova under leadership of Alexandru Latin and Oos Wes Ilava.
The organisation claimed an independent Hurbanova, because King Dimitri I would have too many powers and too much influence on the town of Hurbanova. Organized revolts broke out in April 2008, resulting in the Hurbanova Crisis. On April 15th 2008, the organisation was disbanded by the national authorities. The entire crisis was put to an end after the rather controversial Alexandru Latin Trial. In 2010, both Alexandru Latin and King Dimitri I officialy apologized for the events that had occured.
Description and stance[]
OSHI described itself as being a completely legal and peaceful organisation that claims full freedom of speech and opinion and less power to the King. It would fully support the independence of Hurbanova. Besides, it would cooperate with the local political party Better Lovia.
Cultural arguments for an independent Hurbanova were originally the following:
- The culture would be totally different. E.g. one could take a look at the architecture.
- Other languages would be spoken in Hurbanova, namely Hurbanovan English, Oceana and Slovak.
- The origin of the population would different. Many people would have Slovak or Polish blood and would not originate from Western Europe.
- There would be too much US influence in Lovia. Hurbanova would desire an isolationist direction, apart from both the rest of Lovia and the US.
An infamous controversial quote by King Dimitri I was kept example, used as some kind of motto, by the OSHI. However the validity of the quote is highly in doubt due to several reasons. First, IRC is not the most valid source. Besides there was no screenshot taken as proof. Second, the King claimed to have misunderstood and misinterpreted the question by Ilava. Third, these sentences have been taken out of the context.

Headquarters[]
Its headquarters were initially kept secret, in order to avoid police intervention. However the Federal Police discovered the OSHI in a basement in future Drake Town and closed the headquarters.
