Martha Van Ghent (née Marta Van Gent, 1992) is a Libertas-born Lovian national politician for Walden. Van Ghent is the former Governor of Sylvania, Secretary of Welfare and Chairwoman of the National Park Service. She was a Member of the Congress, elected successfully in the 2010 Mid-term Elections.

A starting entrepeneur, Van Ghent is the main proprietor of Shadwell Inc and is the corporation's CEO. As a pianist and vocalist, she plays in the all-female jazz band Fox Force Four.

Business[]

Van Ghent is the founder of the Vineyard Stores, now a subsidiary of Shadwell Inc. As of January 16th, 2010, she is the main shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of Shadwell Inc.

Politics[]

Van Ghent is affiliated with Walden (formerly WLP), being a political liberalist, a militant feminist and an environmental activist. Since February 2010, Van Ghent is the National Park Service chairwoman, appointed by the Secretary of Energy, Environment and Transportation Andy McCandless. Van Ghent ran for Congress in the Mid-term Elections of 2010. By the second week, she led the polls. She ended first, a position shared with Liberal Democrat Percival E. Galahad. Van Ghent was appointed and confirmed Secretary of Welfare, replacing her party colleague Edward Hannis.

In the Fall 2010 State Elections, Van Ghent was elected Governor of Sylvania by the largest margin of victory in the country.

Van Ghent is a personal friend of Alyssa C. Red (CPL.nm) and has close ties with her Waldener colleagues Andy McCandless and Marcus Villanova.

She served in congress from 2010 until 2012, when she failed to get re-elected in the 2013 elections.
