James P. Garfield (1950 - 1989) was a Lovian politician and the Governor of Sylvania from 1986 until his death in 1989. He served two consecutive terms, but was brutally murdered in his second term. He was murdered by Agneta Brooke, his former mistress. His secretary Jim Mothersbaugh replaced him for another year.
