Here Come The Blues

Sawyer's first single

"Here Come The Blues" is a Libertan alternative folk song and the first single off Sawyer Hillbilly's 2010 debut album Sound Like A Hillbilly. Released with Red Horse Records on October 22nd, it is Hillbilly's first release in Lovia. The artist said the single was a first step to get acquainted with the Lovian music market, and a good way to get Lovians to know his music. In Koe'Koe magazine, the label announced that they were willing to release Hillbilly's full album in Lovia too, if the signle proved to be a success. The Noble City Times reported on October 24 that the single was a commercial success in Lovia.[1]

The single contains the album version, an acoustic version, and the track "Melancholy", also from the album.

The cover was designed by the Libertan artist Esther Damnes, who also designed the album cover.

Themes[]

In "Here Come The Blues", Hillbilly recounts the story of a working-class American family. The artist criticizes the market system and the "pauperization of the workingman".

It was the single of the year in 2010 by the Plus Top 20.
