A department is a ministry of the Lovian Federal Government, led by a Federal Secretary. The government has numerous departments, each with a specialised field of service.

On February 1, 2008 the Lovian Prime Minister and the ruling monarch appointed new Secretaries^[1], and these are the departments they chose to create:

• Department of Energy and Environment
• Department of Finance
• Department of Foreign Affairs
• Department of Industry, Agriculture and Trade
• Department of Justice
• Department of Tourism and Leisure^[2]

[edit] State Departments

States are allowed to create separate state departments in case a certain field of governance has become large enough to be governed separately. Currently, only two states have a state department. The Sylvania State Government created the Sylvania State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development May 31, 2008, as the first and only state department, focused on agriculture and fishery within the state, and the development of more rural areas. Later on Oceana created the Oceana State Department of Culture and Heritage and the Oceana State Department of Urban Planning and Development.
