The 2011 Lovia Racers Cup season was the first edition of Lovia's racing season, which was entirely based at the Lovia International Circuit. The final selection for the 32 participating drivers was made in the middle of November of 2010.
While players were being established, advertising to gain spectators began (see right for example), but it would not be until later November, as teams were making their selections, that the process of gaining popularity for the sport would take action. The official motto for the 2011 Season was debated heavily by marketers, the most popular ones being:
- Be There.
- Speed is Beautiful.
- Turning on a Dime. At 200 Kilometers an Hour.
The decision was made to use the first motto due to the fact that it was most likely to attract a larger amount of people viewing it live, which was planned to be the greatest source of revenue, according to Edward Hannis (who incidentally also owned ZAM TV, which would have a majority of broadcasting rights to the Lovia Racers Cup).
The first team to request rights to a team in the cup was Pinas Automobile, and was accepted. Being the first team, they quickly bought rights to four of the top ten favorite players, those expected to do best. However, they would later sell the rights to two of these players, keeping only Hans Anderson and Neil Olberding. They would buy rights to two other Lovian racers, assuring support from their base country and from the host of the cup.
Quickly, many other teams bought themselves into the cup, hoping to possibly expand influence into a nation that was largely self-sufficient in the automobile industry. Many teams bought rights to players from their own base nations. Examples of this were Citroën (France), SEAT (Spain), Ford (USA), Chrysler (USA), Lada (Russia), and Alfa Romeo (Italy). The only exception to this was Fiat (Italy-based), who though originally bought rights to an Italian player (Emilio Garrabrant), quickly expanded into a multinational team, having Italian, Lovian, Spanish, and American racers.
Players and teams were officially established and exchanges concluded in the end of November.
